Services
Individual pet cremation with an independent, APPCC accredited, pet crematorium not only gives you peace of mind but also a more personal service. We have over 30 years of experience and we are here to help you make the right choices for you and your pet.
Our Services
There are times when we all have to let go of someone we love. We recognise that losing a pet is losing a member of the family and we are here to help at this difficult time.
What You Can Expect From Us
We are a family business with a very small team and every one of us is a pet owner. When you come to Companions Haven you will find us surrounded by our cats, dogs, chickens, fish and even a bearded dragon.
We treat every pet that comes to us as we would treat one of our own and adhere to a strict code of practice, ensuring your pet is cared for with respect and love.
The First Step
It may not be easy but the first thing to do is to get in touch with us. If the worst has happened or you can see it coming, give us a call and we will help you make decisions. It is alright to cry, we know how hard it is, once you have a plan in place you will feel a bit better. We’ll help you decide whether you want to bring your pet to us or have us collect from your home or the vet.
Pet Collection Service

Individual Pet Cremation
We pride ourselves on providing the very highest standards. An individual cremation is performed with a single pet in a single cremation chamber. Your pet is handled with dignity at all times.
When the cremation is complete the remains are carefully removed from the chamber and cremulated into a fine ash. The ashes are then returned to the owner in whichever casket or urn option they have chosen.
Individual cremation is the only type of cremation that we offer direct to the public.

Return of Ashes
We generally aim to have ashes ready for collection as soon as possible, as we know that this brings comfort to many owners. Ashes are generally available to collect, by appointment, from the following day after we have received the pet. We can also return ashes on the same day by prior agreement providing we are able to receive the pet in good time, i.e. during the morning.

Respectful Communal Cremation
We work in partnership with a number of independent vets, through whom we offer both individual cremation and respectful communal cremation. With respectful communal cremation, the pets are transported and handled with the same level of dignity but they are then cremated side by side rather than individually.
All ashes from communal cremation are interred here in the grounds and garden at Companions Haven. Although most owners opt for individual cremation, this service, available only via vets, offers an affordable alternative.
Please note that the term ‘communal cremation’ is sometimes used as cover for ‘disposal’ services, which do not apply the same high standards. You should always make it clear to your vet what type of cremation service you require.

The Personal Touch
As a family business, we are small and flexible enough to tailor arrangements to suit your needs. Some owners like to share stories and photos with us, whilst others would prefer to be alone. We are happy to take a keepsake of fur from your pet or a pawprint as required. We can offer options on scattering or burying of ashes or keeping your ashes in a casket, urn or item of jewellery.
If you have a personal request, please feel free to ask.
